About OrganFest 2021

Beauty Endures

Last summer’s OrganFest 2020 was born out of disappointment at the unfortunate need to cancel the AGO National Convention. This year, in the absence of Regional Conventions, we wanted to provide a week in which we could again enjoy outstanding performers and instruments, be entertained by a wide variety of musical styles, learn new skills, and mingle with old and new friends at after-parties.

The backbone of OrganFest is a collection of performances from all seven AGO regions, presented on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. These programs will also include mini-documentaries highlighting some of our colleagues, as well as an improvised silent movie accompaniment, a featured young organist, and the winner of the National Competition in Organ Improvisation.

For the first time, we are also offering interactive content via Zoom on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These will include panel discussions on organ building and diversifying repertoire, as well as presentations on improvisation and building a career as a collaborative musician. We will also enjoy the final round of the National Competition in Organ Improvisation—with the opportunity to vote for an Audience Prize—and the premieres of two Pogorzelski-Yankee award-winning compositions, along with conversations with the performers and composers.

We very much look forward to seeing you this summer. After last summer's Beauty in the Midst of Chaos, we want to share our hope that in the ongoing pandemic, with new light emerging at the end of the tunnel, truly, Beauty Endures.

Major support for AGO OrganFest 2021 is provided by the Associated Pipe Organ Builders of America.
